Directional couplers are used to distribute the RF signal on one line into two de-coupled parts depending on the direction. The coupling factor is the value that indicates which share of the overall power is transferred from the through line to the coupling branch.
A directional coupler is a device for easily combining two RF signals with different frequencies. It is also possible to use directional couplers for combining the power of two RF signals with the same frequency, or as a measuring device for coupling out signals for monitoring.
Besides coaxial directional couplers, which are mainly used in mobile communication and broadcast systems, SPINNER also offers waveguide couplers for radar and satellite systems as well as for high-power industrial and research applications - e. g. for power combining in nuclear fusion experiments and particle accelerators.
SPINNER directional couplers convince because of their:
-Low insertion loss, low variation of the coupling attenuation and high directivity over the whole frequency range.
Different to directional couplers, the outputs of splitters are not isolated from each other. SPINNER splitters are characterised by their:
-Compact design
-Broad band operating frequency range
-Low amplitude and phase difference on the outputs
-Excellent passive intermodulation properties
Be it directional couplers or splitters, SPINNER solutions are unmatched, reliable, and maintenance-free. Enjoy the benefit!

Symmetrical splitters
split an input signal into two or more even shares, whereas asymmetrical splitters break the input signal down into two different shares with a defined distribution relationship.Different to directional couplers, the outputs of splitters are not isolated from each other.
